Towels and robes: what to ask before hiring
Inclusions, sizing, replacements and returns matter more than the label spa kit.

When admission includes a kit, look for the precise list of supplied items. Towels, robes and footwear can appear in different combinations. Establish which items are borrowed and which belong to the guest afterwards, without guessing from their packaging. If sizing matters, ask about availability and collection before visiting. A product bought through an intermediary may contain different inclusions from an offer currently displayed on the facility’s website; refer to your own confirmation. Keeping a specific answer helps you pack accurately and avoids buying unnecessary duplicates of things that will already be provided.
Compare weight with convenience
Bringing your own linen can be convenient when arriving by car with somewhere to dry it afterwards. With a small bag on a train, hiring may reduce bulk and damp weight on the return. Compare the actual charge against this practical advantage rather than assuming either approach is automatically better. Ask whether a wet towel can be replaced during a longer visit and under what conditions. If using your own items, check any facility requirements and choose fabrics suited to their purpose. A very small towel or cumbersome robe can make different activities less convenient than expected.
Plan the return as well
Before entering, locate the return point for used items and establish how any deposit works. Do not automatically put everything into your bag at departure: check pockets, hooks and the locker, then separate personal belongings from borrowed supplies. In a group, each person should recognise their own allocation without exchanging items during the day. Avoid marking or altering hired fabrics to identify them. Back at your accommodation, deal promptly with your own damp clothes according to their care labels. The right kit simplifies both arrival and departure without leaving unresolved details to sort out at reception afterwards.
