A rainy day without filling every hour
Prepare two nearby alternatives and give the weather time to change.

A small plan, not a second holiday
A rainy forecast does not require an entirely new itinerary. First choose one indoor possibility near your accommodation and one enjoyable pause: a short visit, a book or a café where you would like to linger. The aim is to reduce travel rather than collect replacement activities.
Check opening arrangements for the actual day, admission times and whether booking is necessary. An indoor attraction may be closed on your free day. If weather becomes severe, follow local notices and reconsider the journey even when the activity itself takes place inside.
Give the morning a shape
Start with a flexible time. Enjoying breakfast and checking a weather update is different from repeatedly looking at your phone. Decide when you will reassess the plan, perhaps after the first activity. That way, you do not spend the entire day waiting at a window for the sky to change.
Keep useful return items handy: a bag for a wet umbrella and a change of socks may be more practical than luggage full of alternatives. Check where clothing can dry in your room and avoid placing it on furniture or electrical devices.
Leave part of it unplanned
If you chose the trip for rest, you do not need to prove you used every minute. Spend part of the day reading or watching the landscape from indoors. When conditions become suitable, choose a short outing that is easy to cut back, rather than trying to recover every missed stop.
If you choose to read in a shared space, follow its rules and leave needed seats available for other guests. An enjoyable pause does not require occupying a table for the entire day.
Two realistic alternatives are enough: the plan should help you, not occupy every available hour.
